5 Points of Responsibility: to yourself, others, application, higher authority, verification
Security in churches is more important now than ever. It doesn’t matter whether your church is small, medium or large, get your people trained and certified with Copacetic Defense Training. CDT will come to your church and conduct an Alaska concealed carry course on site. The classes are a great outreach to your community, bringing people into contact with your church. You might also consider active shooter response training for your church. Go to the active shooter page for more information.
CDT is approved by the state and Chief Instructor Dr. Guy is a certified handgun instructor and range safety officer with the NRA. He has black belts in Shotokan Karate (1st Dan), Shokenryu Karate (Shodan), and Bojutsu (staff technique). The training is thought provoking and practical. As a sample, here are 5 points of responsibility contained in the CC training manual:
#1. Responsibility to yourself (John 5:31): Hold yourself accountable but realize that your actions will have impact and be substantiated by how they relate to the other 4 factors.
#2. Responsibility to others (John 5:32-35): Make it safe for the people around you by what you know (your training). How safe people feel around you will speak to your character.
#3. Responsibility to apply (John 5:36): The final step of understanding anything is application. Keep your learning practical and then deploy what you have learned.
#4. Responsibility to Higher Authority (John 5:37-38): Have a standard that goes beyond the subjective. Your training should be reflective of accountability and perspective. You are an ambassador.
#5. Responsibility to Verify (John 5:39): Always remain humble and realize that you need more training. Training verifies that you are all about helping and making things better.
Knowledge, wisdom, and understanding are heavily emphasized in all courses taught by CDT. Wisdom is knowledge rightly applied. Understanding is realizing that you don’t know everything and that you need to get instructor led training.
